Matt Hoffman, DNP, APRN, FNP-C

Biography

Dr. Matt Hoffman is a family nurse practitioner and has taught at Texas A&M University in the College of Nursing since 2012 in undergraduate and graduate programs. Within the College of Nursing, he has served as the inaugural Faculty Chair in addition to service among TAMU committees and organizations, including Faculty Senate, Faculty Senate Caucus, Sexual Assault Survivors Services Committee, and the LGBTQ+ Pride Center, among others.

Dr. Hoffman’s professional research experiences include local and national meetings and conferences, most notably for the use of policy models in nursing and his work on creating psychologically healthy work environments. He is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Nursing Honor Society, American Association of Nurse Practitioners, Gay and Lesbian Medical Association, National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, National League for Nursing, Brazos Valley Nurse Practitioners Association, and is a lifetime Legacy Member of Texas Nurse Practitioners. In addition to membership duties, he has also served in previous leadership roles as Secretary for The Phi Iota chapter of Sigma Theta Tau, President of the Brazos Valley Nurse Practitioners Association, and President for Aggie Allies. In 2020 he was announced as the Phyllis R. Frye Advocacy Award winner for his work done at Texas A&M, and within the local community, towards the acceptance and nurturance of transgender faculty, staff, and students. Dr. Hoffman teaches Advanced Pharmacology, Advanced Pathophysiology, Primary Care of Families, and practices in a family practice clinic in Bryan, TX. Dr. Hoffman joined University Health Services in 2022.
