Professional Seminars

Seminars are designed to provide theoretical and practical information on different topics that are relevant to university counseling center work and tend to focus on various client populations and multicultural areas. These didactic trainings are largely concentrated in fall break, the winter break, and the summer semester. Generally, the seminars include both didactic instruction and discussion, supplemented with case material when relevant. Seminars are experiential in that interns are asked to self-reflect on how their self with values and experiences intersects with the particular topic. A variety of staff members are involved in seminar facilitation. Seminars have been scheduled thoughtfully due to the sequential and cumulative nature of the internship.
