University Health Services will deliver an educational session on anxiety and depression using a structured curriculum to support facilitators. This presentation will include a grounding skill demonstration, assess knowledge gained through a post-survey, and focus on increasing awareness, teaching self-care techniques, and promoting campus mental health resources to reduce crises and decrease stigma.

Through interactive discussions and scenario-based activities, participants will explore various support services and learn how to effectively utilize and share these resources with others. We will cover key definitions, practical techniques, and engage in an activity designed to self-reflection. Our goal is to reduce burnout rates among Texas A&M students by equipping them with effective stress management strategies and promoting the mental health resources available on campus.

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in college-aged individuals. The severity of suicidal crisis and existence of stigma can limit one’s ability to or comfortability in reaching out to campus resources. Similarly, many individuals want to support peers and loved ones in crisis but may not know when or how to help. Increasing awareness of the signs, symptoms, and statistics related to suicide can enable us to support both ourselves and our loved ones. This presentation aims to give an overview of the importance of suicide prevention, ways to identify signs of need, basic skillsets for supporting someone in a crisis, and resources available both on and off campus. This presentation can be a beneficial introduction or supplement to more in-depth gatekeeper presentations.

Talk Saves Lives is an educational presentation by the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) that provides an overview of suicide prevention. It increases awareness by covering warning signs, risk and protective factors, and actionable steps to help prevent suicide. Emphasizing early intervention, support, and stigma reduction, this presentation equips individuals with the knowledge and confidence to take proactive measures in their communities.

This presentation aims to increase app interaction within the Texas A&M community, encompassing both faculty, staff, and students. The goal is to boost app engagement by 20% over the next school year (2024-2025) through a series of interactive presentations and practical demonstrations. The lesson plan outlines clear objectives, including increasing user engagement with interactive features, enhancing self-efficacy in app navigation, and tracking usage metrics for continuous improvement.

Resiliency - From the Ground Up is a 1.25-hour resilience interactive workshop that teaches participants strategies to grow resiliency skills through practical application. Topics covered include optimism, cognitive thinking traps, healthy and unhealthy coping strategies, and growth mindset. Participants will leave with an understanding of the importance of perspective and self-growth.

The Let’s Be Food Real Nutrition Workshop aims to provide practical knowledge and skills to help you make healthier food choices, balance your diet, and understand the importance of nutrition for overall well-being. The program topics focus on understanding the basics of nutrition, highlighting food labels and smart shopping, and maximizing food choices through a realistic lens. Whether you’re navigating campus dining halls, cooking for yourself, or managing a busy schedule, this workshop will equip you with valuable insights and tips to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Lights Out! is an interactive program designed to help students anonymously voice questions and concerns about sexual health, sexuality, and relationships. Attendees write questions on slips of paper, which are gathered and drawn and answered at random. Facilitators will provide accurate answers and lead an external condom use demo at the end of the program.

The session will cover the importance of sleep for overall health/well-being and lifestyle factors affecting sleep. Through interactive activities and discussions, attendees will gain personalized insights and actionable steps to improve their sleep habits effectively.
