Approach to Therapy and Professional Interests
I strive to hold a safe, respectful, and non-judgmental space for students to be themselves as I believe this helps create an effective therapeutic relationship between counselor and student. I approach counseling from a holistic perspective and use an integrative approach that includes cognitive-behavioral therapy, solution-focused therapy and mindfulness. My clinical interests include personal growth, self-esteem, relationship concerns, and grief.
Approach to Supervision
As a supervisor, I have the responsibility to foster personal and professional growth for my supervisees throughout their supervision experience. This is established by creating a collaborative and supportive relationship that allows my supervisees to grow professionally and become confident in the counseling skills they are developing. I use the Common Factors Discrimination model to create a structured, relationship-centered approach to supervision.
Personal Interests
Outside of work, I enjoy engaging in anything that contributes to my self-care and personal growth including spending time with my four children and my husband, catching up with my friends, crafting, reading, watching television and taking family trips.
