Biography
Dr. Ashley Hughes, NP obtained her Associate’s degree in nursing in 2008 from Temple College. She went on to obtain her Bachelor’s (2011), Master’s (2014), and Doctorate (2018) degrees in nursing from Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi.
Dr. Hughes is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and is a board-certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator through the National League for Nursing.
Co-currently, Dr. Hughes works for the Department of Veterans Affairs (2007) and is a reservist in the United States Air Force (2016). She previously worked for Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi in both clinical and adjunct faculty roles within the Family Nurse Practitioner program. Dr. Hughes has expert experience with inpatient, outpatient, intensive, home based, telemedicine, aerospace, and deployed healthcare settings.
Dr. Hughes is a proponent of research as has disseminated her various research at the local, state, national, and international levels.
Dr. Hughes is a native to the College Station area, having grown up a short 45 minutes away. She has two boys, and in her spare time she enjoys all things outdoors, traveling, vacationing, and shopping!
